The Aiko 4 base model makes use of the V4.2 model which is a very big improvement for Poser artists because with a few adjustments V4.2 clothing can now be used with the Aiko 4 base model. Back when Aiko 3 and V3 were superstars, it was necessary to purchase the same style clothing twice if you wanted Aiko 3 and V3 to wear the same clothing. But it seems those days are over and because of this we should see an increase in the variety of 3D clothing for the bases.
You'll soon forget about the default texture once you have one of the many quality character textures that are available for Aiko 4. We haven't seen any monster textures for Aiko 4, but that will probably change this year once Halloween comes around. For those who may not be familiar with Halloween, it's a celEbration that comes once a year in the U.S. where adults and kids dress up in costume as monsters, superheroes, or any other popular character that has a mask available in the store. During this time the kids get candy from their neighbors and the adults get drunk. Hopefully this year we'll see some more new monster content.
Variation and uniqueness for Aiko 4 (A4) is incredible. It uses the V4.2 base. You'll be creating characters and body shapes for years to come before you get bored with her. If you are a big anime fan then Aiko 4 holds true to your anime style, but goes beyond the traditional anime style and will allow you to create Final Fantasy (the later versions X, X2, the new version that is out) style characters.
Aiko 4 is easy to use but will take Aiko 3 fans a little more time to get used to the morph dials since more features have been added. If you are a V 3 fan then you don't have too much to learn. Our guess at Poser By Design is that the success of Aiko 4 and V 4.2 will spark an entirely new base creation that is unique from Aiko 4 and V 4.2. It still remains to be seen but we would like to see just how creative the people at DAZ can get.
Like always you're going to get some joint issues with the base models, but most of the joint issues from past Aiko 3 models are gone. Joint issues around the shoulder still seem to be an issue when it comes to extreme posing but most of the time it's the pose that needs to be alter and not the joints. If the shoulder joints irritate you, then you can purchase a script from Renderosity that will automatically fix the issue. Over all Aiko 4 is definitely worth the buy if you are looking to create more than just realistic characters. If you are anime, manga, fantasy or faeries then you'll need Aiko 4 to satisfy your creative thirst.
