Which one should I buy?
Many of you are probably trying to make up your mind about upgrading or purchasing a Poser product. Should I get Poser 7 or Poser Pro? Is it worth the money to upgrade from Poser 7 to Poser Pro? Which one is better. Well the good news is that the answer to the questions all depends on your needs. If you one of the few people that have Poser running on the network cranking out Poser 3D Projects then you'll definitely want to upgrade to Poser Pro. Poser Pro does everything that Poser Pro does and now has network rendering and plugins that will allow you to transfer Poser scenes and models in to higher end 3D applications such as Maya and 3Dmax. That's about it in a nut shell for Poser Pro. If you are just one of the many people who are cranking out the last few years of your 512MB RAM beauty, then the biggest thing that you'll notice is a faster rendering speed than that of Poser 7.
If you have Poser 7 then you'll do fine to stick with Poser 7 and you won't miss much especially if your computer is running with 512MB RAM. The default rendering quality is a little better but nothing to jump up and down about. It actually took us 4 or 5 months to finally let go of Poser 7 and only work with Poser Pro and so far we have very little to complain about with the exception of the 512MB RAM part. Managing the 3D content on Poser still takes work and hopefully the next version will have a better organizational system for managing 3D content. Like always the price range for Poser 7 and Poser Pro is great if you are upgrading from an earlier version.
